Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (FBM) Scholarship 2026 – For Female Nigerian Students in STEM, Teaching & Nursing

Applications are now open for the 2026 Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (FBM) Scholarship, powered by the Opekete Foundation. This program is dedicated to supporting young Nigerian women pursuing careers in STEM, Teaching, and Nursing, helping them access quality education and build impactful futures.

The scholarship honors the legacy of Mrs. Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (1921–2021), a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment through education and healthcare.

Scholarship Value

• ₦350,000 per year – Secondary School Students

• ₦650,000 per year – University Undergraduates

Additional support includes resources to help recipients excel academically and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be female Nigerian citizens

• Have gained admission or be enrolled in a public university or Senior Secondary School

• Attend or plan to attend a public/federal government-owned institution

• Be committed to studying Teaching, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or Nursing

Academic Requirements

Secondary School Applicants

• Minimum of 5 distinctions (A or B) in:

  • English

  • Mathematics

  • Any other 3 core subjects (Junior WAEC)

University Applicants

• Minimum of 5 distinctions (A1–B3) in:

  • English

  • Mathematics

  • Any other 3 relevant subjects (WAEC/NECO, one sitting)

• Must meet JAMB cut-off for chosen course and institution
